COVID-19 cases decrease after a month in India

Covid-19 – The third wave of corona in the country is getting weaker and there is a steady decline in the cases of corona every day. In the last 24 hours, 83,876 new corona cases have been registered in the country. There has been a 22 percent drop in corona cases since yesterday. A day earlier, 1.07 lakh corona cases were reported daily in the country. In the last 24 hours, 895 people have died. The death toll now stands at 5,02,874. But, it also includes Kerala’s backlog with 378 deaths.

The decline in daily corona cases for the last few weeks is also visible in active cases. The number of active cases has come down to 11,08,938 within the last 24 hours. The period saw a decrease of 1,16,073 active cases. Active cases are 2.62 per cent of the total cases. In the last 24 hours, 1.99.054 people have been cured in the country. The total number of people recovering from this has increased to 4.06,602,202.

New research suggests that a booster shot of the corona vaccine may provide effective protection against omicrons.

As part of the nationwide vaccination campaign, 14,70,053 doses of vaccination were given in the last 24 hours. The country has given 169.63 billion vaccine doses so far. Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours, 11,56,363 tests were conducted to detect corona infection. After that a total of 74.15 crore tests were done in the country.
